This LEGO entry into the virtual world is strictly for kids but even they won't be amused by this one for long.

First and foremost this game was solely intended for children in mind as the primary demographic. Any conceptions of the modern LEGO games that have become a hit with the platformer crowd can be thrown out. Other game players will have little interest or reason to play this simplistic sandbox game. The concept is simple enough. You are given a number of starter environments and unlimited LEGO objects to put and build things wherever you want and see how the different things and people interact with each other. There is a tutorial mode that serves as a tedious and hand holding experience in which you learn how to interact with certain objects and how to build things. After each step of the tutorial you are treated to a cinematic where Cedric the bull has some cartoonish mishaps whilst trying to invade the castle. There are numerous objects which to put in any given environment at your leisure and they all share the medieval knights theme. Some objects can be activated by interacting with them for example you can fire a catapult into an assault tower but nothing really cool happens. The object it hits just disappears. The graphics are disappointing as you might expect the LEGO characters have limited animation and there are plenty of background glitches and whatnot that hinder the immersion. Now I'm no longer a child but I think this game has the potential to hold the interest of a very young child but only so long as the ways in with the characters and objects interact are about as limited as the toys themselves.
