its supposed to be an expansion pack. Valve decided to earn quick buck
l4d2 is l4d1.5. New co-op modes and a longer campaign. Still the same amount of fun in different locale especially playing with friends. 3 new zombie types, a few new weapons (including melee) and new special items (deployable ammo box, resuscitation kit)
Things that i clearly disagree:
- better story: Theres barely any link between segments in the game and most of the time, players will be smashing and shooting anything that moves. There are some ingame communication between characters to give some thought about what has happen, its so few inbetween that i barely know it existed.
Generally, i love VS mode and playing as a zombie in l4d and we love to gang-up on zoey.. hmmm... nevermind. The only mode that set itself apart from the rest of the generic hordes of zombie Apocalypse games out there. In l4d2, seem like VS mode is negelected (is good, but theres no improvement over it) and it is focus on zombie genocide co-op experience.
verdict:
if l4d2 was bundled with l4d for $40, i could say it a good deal for an arcade game. For the player with existing l4d, it sucks.
