When we see video games based off a successful movie come out, they sometimes get good and bad reviews. After City of the Dead for the Xbox was cancelled in August 2005 because of its publisher filing for bankruptcy, Groove Games published a different game called Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green for the original Xbox and PC in October in time for the film's DVD release and recieved mostly poor reviews on both consoles.

Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green is a game based off George A. Romero's Land of the Dead film that came out in June to mostly positive reviews. You control a guy named Jack, a farmer who sees a stranger on his farm after the power comes out in his house. After that, the stranger is a zombie. You then go through 26 missions with several weapons.

First, the graphics are okay, but not quite as scary as fans of the film would expect. Zombies are supposed to bite you, but it looked like Groove did not know about it that time. However, they do look a lot better than World War II Combat: Road to Berlin.

The second thing is that there are tons of weapons you would want in the game, but their accuracy don't look quite right and sometimes inaccurate throughout the game. The ammo weapons look right when you start, but some get inaccurate a few minutes into the game. It is probably a bit easier to use melee wepons like a fire axe and shovel, but it kind of looks like you poke an enemy with a shovel when you use one.

In the end, with a cheap 20-dollar price, Fans of the Land of the Dead film might enjoy LOTD: Road to Fiddler's Green for the Xbox, but real gamers should look elsewhere.
