Bad gameplay and the whole "pimp my ride"/ West Coast Customs theme makes for a unenjoyable experience.

L.A. Rush is a very bad attempt at a driving simulator. Going in I expected a game along the lines of test drive. A cartoonish, rather short story, with a all around game. What I got was a lackluster story line about the top street racer who gets all his possesions repossesed by a rival and has to take his original car from the bottom of the racing ladder all the way back to the top. Thrown into the street races are challenges where you must steal your cars back from where they are being hidden while getting as little damage doen to them as you can. The story is not what is wrogn with the game, it is the driving. When your car is goin 50 mph the secenery and traffic fly past like you are goin 150 and the steering is extremly touchy. The frustrating driving and lack of direction during the races kept it hard for me to get immersed in the game. During races there is no set course. There are simply check points which you can take any path to get to. This makes it hard for you to be in the lead and make the correct decisions because you could drive in teh completly wrong direction, the only direction that you have is a GPS arrow on the top of the screen which merly points in the direction of the next checkpoint, it does not lead you down the quickest path. Overall I'm happy I was given this game by a friend and did not waste my money on it. L.A. Rush is not even worth a rent in my mind.
