Everyone's favorite pink puff ball, Kirby, has returned for an enhanced remake on the DS, and this one takes the cake.

User Rating: 8 | Kirby Super Star Ultra DS
Being a Kirby fan for most of my life, I was sure that I was going to buy this game. And so, I bought it, and I have now decided to review it to tell everybody who hasn't been convinced by other reviews that this game is worth your money. The following is a breakdown of the categories mostly looked for in a game:

STORY (2/10)
You cannot base a Kirby game off of its storyline. There isn't one. And it is meant to be that way. The different main games each have a backstory and a story, but it is just there so that you know why you are chasing after a giant bird for food.

GAMEPLAY (8/10)
The gameplay here is, simply put, simple. Which is how Kirby games are. Simple, but addictive. Many different enemies come at you, and it is up to you to defeat them, whether you decide to eat them, or just avoid them. There are a few new copy abilities thrown in, and most of the older ones have new abilities added to them, which adds a lot to the fun. I haven't even figured out half of the new moves yet. The game is a little on the easy side at first, but as you get the the Great Cave Offensive and Meta Knight's Revenge, you will start to notice that the levels are LONGER, but not exactly HARDER. Most of the times you will die from falling because you ate an enemy and couldn't get it out in time, or not knowing if something is a bottomless pit until you are falling into it. Even though the game is easy, you will still find yourself having fun as you play.

SOUND (7/10)
I'm not too big on sound in video games, because I usually don't pay much attention to it, but the sounds and music in this game are fine, and I have no complaints.

REPLAY VALUE (8/10)
Since there are so many copy abilities and new moves, you will want to play more and more until you learn all of them. You will want to unlock all of the movies and the extra sub games. Your records in the games are always there to be broken. The Co-Op in this game is a very welcome feature that has been in Kirby games for a long time.

FINAL OPINION (8.5/10, better than the sum of its parts)
All in all, Kirby Super Star Ultra is a great game that is definitly worth your money, but if you are not a Kirby fan you might want to rent it first. That being said, this is a great game for new Kirby fans because of the 6 different main games that all differ in difficulty. I can wholeheartedly recommend this game for any owner of a DS.

Thank you for reading my review of Kirby Super Star Ultra.
