Just as good as the original. Tons of games to play, and tons of fun to be had!

User Rating: 8.5 | Kirby Super Star Ultra DS
This game is almost identical to the original SNES version. Kirby Super Star is the best Kirby game I have played. I use to play it all the time when it first came out. Me and my brother would play, he would be kirby and I would be the helper. With all the different games to play it was so much fun. I must've beat each game twenty times when I was younger.

So when I saw this was being released on the DS I had to pick it up. It was definitely a nostalgic trip down memory lane. All the modes were so much fun going through again. Plus they added more mini games and four more modes. Playing through the old games was fun, but extremely easy(spring breeze, dyna blade). The great cave was still a challenge. Finding all 60 treasures in this game is fun. Revenge of meta-knight and milky way wishes was fun, but again they were pretty easy and short. And having played them before, it just wasnt as exciting as playing it on the SNES. The 3D cutscenes were nice, but thats about it.

The new modes were the best part of this game. Helper to hero was the best. Playing with all 20 of the helpers was fun. The arena and true arena were actually challenging, which is a nice change for a kirby game. The other two modes were ok. Revenge of the King was just a more difficult version of Spring breeze, but overall it still wasnt that hard. The meta-knight game was ok. Using meta-knights abilities was cool, but the whole point of the game is to play through it fast. SO i felt like I didnt get time to explore, instead I tried to finish it as fast as i could.

They are heading in the right direction with the kirby franchise. The new modes really made this game almost better than the original. But like all kirby games it suffers from the same problems. They are all way to short and easy. I never got a game over in the whole game. Plus each game only lasts a little more than an hour at the most. They also need to come up with some new ideas. Many of the enemies, bosses, and level designs are so similar, and are in every single kirby game. They need to stick with kirby and with the helper idea, but take it to the next level. Kirby has an amazing charm that always makes me want to play all the games. They are all good, but i think for the next installment they need to do something different.
