Do not believe the false reviews of other gaming sites, this is an incredible update to the SNES masterpiece.

User Rating: 10 | Kirby Super Star Ultra DS
The main reason I'm writing this review is because sites like Modojo, GameDaily, and IGN have reviewed this game with a very low score WITHOUT HAVING PLAYED THE GAME. So many points in their reviews are incorrect, one universal example them stating you play as Meta Knight in the subgame "Revenge of Meta Knight" which isn't true. Do not take their low scores into account, because they based their scores off reading other sites' previews and hands-on experiences and just making false assumptions, which is totally wrong. I am hoping GameSpot won't make the same mistake.

I don't have much to say about the game. The FMV cutscenes are very well made and are a nice addition. All of the game's art, like sprites and backgrounds, have been completely redone and they look bright, sharp, and colorful on the DS. The new subgames: Revenge of the King, Meta Knightmare Ultra, Helper to Hero, and True Arena are VERY well polished, fun to play through, and they can be legitimately difficult, something that many Super Star veterans will appreciate (even though they all feel like rehashes). The minigames are simple but interesting, you won't spend hours on them, but they're entertaining enough to play a few rounds of each with friends.

The only flaws are the mostly easy difficulty (until you unlock the harder subgames), short (but sweet) gameplay length, and the fact that some of the new subgames retread material from the old ones.

For the most part, this is a very well polished super special edition of the SNES version. If you played the original, you WILL want to give this a playthrough despite all the familiarity. If you haven't played the original, all the better for you to experience.

Warning: if you intend to make progress on a save file, do not join a wireless game as a helper, as nothing will be saved when you quit the game.
