This game deserves its "Greatest Hits" status, and will remain one of my personal favorites for a long time.

This game is INCREDIBLE. Not only is it one of the few PS2 games I play, it has completely won me over with its huge cast of compelling characters, wonderful music, addictive gameplay, and humor.

You play through the game as a boy named Sora, who I find incredibly lifelike. Never mind his impossibly spiky hair, huge feet, and clothes you probably won't find at most stores. He has his own personality, and he's so impulsive and naive it's hilarious.

The story is constructed extremely well; it unfolds like a good book. It always has you guessing what kind of disaster is gonna happen next, especially after Sora LITERALLY bumps into Donald and Goofy of Disney fame. Or, more correctly, they fall on him.

Speaking of Disney, there are several different worlds throughout the game based on various Disney movies. Sora, Donald, and Goofy explore these worlds in hopes of finding Sora's friends...and King Mickey! They must also save the worlds from a strange dark force called the Heartless using Sora's weapon, the Keyblade.

Final Fantasy fans also will have their wish come true when they see Leon, Cid, Yuffie, and a couple others from the FF universe as well as gameplay similar to Final Fantasy. I don't know whose idea it was to put both in the same game, but it works out surprisingly well.

Gameplay is a kind of like hack-and-slash gameplay, but with RPG elements mixed in. Your characters gain levels, use items, and cast spells like in RPGs.

But what takes me most is the incredible story, especially near the end. The events can tug your heartstrings, and everything that leads up to them makes sense. It's like magic.

No matter how many times you beat the game, you always want to play through it again sometime later. The game is so magical, so funny, and so dramatic, its $19.99 price is a steal. Since its a Greatest Hits, why miss out?
