Bought into the hype, and so far its not as bad as the fallout would lead you to believe.

User Rating: 7.3 | Killzone PS2
I think Killzone would have got a much better fate in the eyes of gamers if it was not hyped as a Halo Killer. When I put all the hype aside we walk away with a very serviceable game, now for PS2 owners this game is one of the the BEST FPS on the console and impressed me a fair bit right out of the gates. The storyline in very interesting it really drew me in and made me play alot longer then I should have. The overall beauty of the levels is something that I can not stress enough they are very good looking and I have found myself looking around countless times to see the detail put into each level. The voice acting is first rate and adds to a storyline that in all fairness was not developed enough and really hurt the game in the long run. My biggest issue with the game is that the gameplay itself is often hindered by strange "glitches" like being able to stand still in some areas and having an enemy walk right by you and not see you even though there is no cover. One aspect of this game that really annoyed me was that some of the levels seem that they were added on for the sake of adding levels, you go from defending an area from the enemy which is high action and very entertaining to running across an open area to pretty well Bring Item A to Slot B, and that happens far to often. I truly do feel that this game could have been the Halo Killer everyone was looking for but this is one of those games that may have benefited from a delay not just to weed out some of the glitches and perhaps make an effort to develop what could have been a first rate storyline, but also to move it out of the path of GTA:SA, Halo 2 and MP2 and HL2, something that I think help push this game to the back of the line alot faster then it would have in January. or even early December. For a PS2 owner this is a must own for the fan of the FPS's but in the grand landscape of FPS games this is another title lost among a landscape of endless FPS coming out for every system.
