Do you want one of the greatest fighting games ever made?

User Rating: 9.5 | Killer Instinct ARC
Once in a blue moon a video game is created that redefines its genre. Killer Instinct did just that. Groundbreaking graphics, superior gameplay, all helped to make KI the classic it is. The combo system can seem tricky at first, but once mastered is utterly devastating.

When you play the game you may well not realise it’s over ten years old. It still feels as fresh today as it always did. So what’s here to get excited about? Ten playable characters (you can play as the boss by entering a code) each representing a stereotype of some kind. (The bad boxer, the martial arts master e.g.)

Animated pre rendered backgrounds that change according to the proximity of the characters. The real love of KI however is the combos. They comprise of an opener, an auto double a linker and then a finisher.

Sounds complicated? It is a little at first but soon you’ll be doing 50 odd hit shadow combos in no time. There’s so much more I could go into, but that would spoil the experience. Get this game on an emulator and relive possibly the greatest fighting game of the 90’s...
