Justice League Heros is a fast, easy game that was, in the end, disappointing and monotonous.

In Justice League Heros, the player gets to experience playing as the main characters of DC Comic's Justice League of America. As a comic fan I found this game to be extremely disappointing. The gameplay becomes rather monotonous after the novelty of playing as Superman has worn off, and the lack of strategy or puzzles of any kind, except for in a few boss battles, takes away from the overall experience of the game. First off the story is not one to write home about. Sometimes it is easy to forget the story because it is overshadowed by each level's or "episodes'" individual objectives. There is one twist that you may or may not see coming, but it's not spectacular or unpredictable. In the end the story just doesn't deliver, and it could have used some major improvements.

The graphics in JLH are, in my opinion, one of the better features of the game. In the cutscenes the graphics are clean and well rounded, and the in game graphics are close to the same quality. The textures of the game really standout and enhance the visual experience, which is trying desperately to compensate for the lack of game play experience. The graphics can be glichy in some places, especially the boss battles, but that is really a small drawback in the overall feeling of the game.

One main problem I had with the game was that you were not allowed to pick your characters for the first four episodes of the game. You were assigned two characters and whether you wanted them or not , you had to use them. After the fourth episode, you could construct your teams of two, but you were never really given any insight into what you were going to be doing with that team. This aspect I have mixed feelings about. It could enhance game play by throwing a little strategy in if your characters aren't good for the situation, but it can also show that going through the game just by punching and kicking is possible.

Game play wise it is very linear and after awhile, the lack of strategy becomes increasingly boring. After you see the same enemy a thousand times and kill him the same way as the last 999, you get tired. While, characters have their special abilities, they aren't really necessary to beating the game. You are called on to use them in the boss fights, but for most of the game you can just use normal combat to defeat your enemies.

As a huge DC fan, and as a comic fan in general, JLH was very sub par to what I was expecting. Say that, I may have been more critical on the game than most players would be. In the end, if you are looking for an easy, quick game that you can beat in a day or two, JLH is certainly worth looking at, but it still wouldn't be my first choice.
