User Rating: 6.3 | James Bond Jr. SNES
James Bond Jr. is an action backed side scrolling game that keeps you on your toes. This game is not for action game amatuers as the game is actually quite difficult. You set out to stop the evil men from recovering some treasures that would give them an enormous amount of wealth. As James Bond Jr. you chase down the criminals to save the day. Gameplay: 7/10 If you practice playing enough times, it is a very fun game. There are in general two modes of play. In some levels and stages you are on foot, jumping, punching, kicking, and shooting your enemy. Along the way you can pick up life points in the form of hearts, as well as pick up bonuses that help you along the way. The other stages have you in vehicles chasing enemies, such as in a helicopter... in which you again pick up bonuses to help you upgrade. There are only a few puzzles or secret locations. Otherwise it is a straightforward scroller that is not very easy. In the early levels it is wise to save all your lives and try to get through without taking any deaths. Graphics: 6/10 The graphics are okay. Most of the background and the character images are pretty well drawn. The only bad part is that James Bond Junior's animation is a little weak. The punching and kicking motions look very... contrived. Sound: 6/10 The action filled sound is mostly just background stuff to keep the game from becoming boring. The sound effects are decent... though probably the best when you are flying the helicopter in stage 2. Reviewer's Tilt: 6/10 It was almost too hard to enjoy. But once I got used to the game, it was a lot of fun finishing it. There is not a lot of replayability in this one since there are not a lot of hidden or special parts to the game.
