As the game stands, it is the redeeming push the Bond Franchise has needed since Goldeneye 007.

User Rating: 8.4 | James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing PS2
After Goldeneye 007 came out and changed the console First-Person Shooter as we know it, the series ran dry for quite a few years with crap like the World is Not Enough, Agent Under Fire, and Nightfire. While the newest installment in the series isn't even a first-person shooter, nor does it redefine a genre, Everything or Nothing is a surprisingly good game that will appeal to both James Bond freaks and action game fans alike. The graphics are both and integral and great part of this gaming experience. The characters look just like their real life counterparts, and the environments are rich with detail and nice touches. The game really pulls some amazing things off, especially for the PS2. The framerate is great as well and the animations are quite fluid. The sound is probably the best part of this game's overall presentation as it masterfully captures the sounds of James Bond, like the chiming of the duh-dum-duh-dah as you pull off a Bond Moment or the incredibly welldone voice acting that delivers well throughout the experience. The voices keep coming such as Pierce Brosnan, Willem Dafoe, Mya, Dame Judi Dench, and John Cleese. The list of professionals go on, but I don't have the time. The sound effects are also top-notch as well. The gameplay itself is actually quite derivitive at its core, as you pretty much pop out from corners, shoot a guy in the head, go to another corner, and repeat for most of the missions. And the game has gone from the first person realm to that of behind the character third person. But the pacing of the missions is great, and the amount of weapons and ways to manipulate the environment in every level makes the game highly addicting to play through to the end. The game also has some really visceral and fun driving missions, and even a real cool part of a mission where Bond actually sky dives without a parachute. It is Bond Moments like these (an important part to really capturing the Bond experience) that elevate the game far beyond the status of the last few games, which were just mindless shooters with not much tie in to the actual series on the gameplay front. It is because of that that this game is definitely a great game, even if you decide to rent it only like I did. However I did find myself through the end of the game in that rental, though people may still wish to play the missions again to get bonus medals.
