I totally disagree with gamespots reviewer and its most obvious he didnt finish the game at all. The first missions are indeed fun and U are all amazed by the graphics and the big enviroment but a game in total needs more then that ... After a while U really get annoyed with the lineair game style, compared to Jak 1 where U had soo much freedom, at some point U just need to do the mission or you are stuck. And then there is the SERIOUS lack of checkpoint, I cant really understand how nauhgty dog have missed this, seriously lack of testing if U ask me, if U die at 80% at a big level U sometimes have to start all over again wich is really bad for the gaming experience, since I oayed the big price for the game i wanted to finish it, now I did and I must say the game has gave me mixed feelings in the end, some parts are just soo fun too play and its an amazing game but lack off checkpoints and the linearity really made me rate it low cos it has simply nothing to do with Jak & Daxter 1 , the fun and freedomly collecting game. U can change a gameformula but then U need to give it a new name and not mislead your gamers with this stunt.
