An awesome game that will make you wish you had an Iron Man suit but kinda suffers from a lack of depth.

First of all I dont know what the hell is wrong with everybody, this game is freaking awesome. It has great graphics, great mechanics, and good music. The story is tied to the movie so no points there.

The controls are sweet. Your suit uses energy for movement, energy based weapons, and armor. You can redirect focus your energy into any one of those catagories by pressing a directional button and then waiting for the switch to occur. Focusing your energy into one of them grants a little extra oomph into stuff. Propulsion makes you go faster, armor lets you take more damage and repel light damage, weapons let you use a charge beam. You will no doubt want to switch focus several times during a mission and its super easy. When you are using a focus though it makes you vulnerable in the other area's though, Your beams do less damage, you are slower, and maybe cant fly at all, or you have low armor and are vulnerable to dieing.

After your first mission you get access to your full array of weaponry, which are beam weapons, ballistic weapons, and missle weapons. The more you use them the more powerful they get and or unlock new weapons. There 2 types of ballistic weapons, and 2 types of missles. Before you go on a mission you can choose your loadout and what Iron Man suit you want. Most of the Iron Man suits are just asthetically different and do not grant different abilities. I didnt use the first suit beyond the first mission.

Theres a bunch of missions to go on that follow the movie i think(havent seen it) and some of them have crates to destroy as a bonus objective. Destroying all the crates on a stage unlocks bonus content like artwork mostly. As you beat missions you unlock the next one but you can also go back and play through the old ones with your new weapons and look for any crates you missed. Being able to replay stages with different suits and different weapons in whatever order you feel like gives the game a SLIGHT replay value.

Oh the controls..mean to talk about them earlier lol. You have an ascend button, a drop button, a jet flight button, a small boost button, a trigger button, a switch weapons button, a context button, and a melee button. Flying around is super easy and for the most part awesome fun. The jet flight button makes you fly really fast and if you focus your energy into propulsion you go even faster its awesome, sadly most stages dont require you to use that flight method to get from one objective to the next because they arent big enough but you can do it anyways whenever you want and some stages do require it.

I think this game is awesome and at the very least a must play. I cant really say you should buy it because my main criteria for buying games is replay value and this just doesnt have it. But I kinda think all these marvel games are worth owning if you are a fan of the characters. Spiderman, Hulk, Iron Man. This is a wicked new era for comic book characters, and comic book creators. It also makes me pretty freaking sad to think about how much comic books freaking cost now and how few of them there are.

I hope to god there is atleast 1-2 more Iron Man movie/game releases or even a stand alone game sequel. I dont really know anything about Iron Man the comic book but besides the red and yellow suit my other favorite suit is that grey suit with the missle pod on the shoulder. I dont know if that's one of Tony Stark's or someone else but you do not get to use that suit in this game and that kinda bummed me out. That would be worth a sequel just to use it hehehe.

Anyways gamespot and most everyone else is off their medication. This game rocks and everyone should at the very least play through it once.
