Wowsers!

User Rating: 6.7 | Inspector Gadget: Advance Mission GBA
I used to watch the Inspector Gadget cartoons in the weekends and it was one of my favourite shows. Years later i spotted the inspector Gadget game for the gameboy advance in a store. I had not heard anything about it, nor did i see any reviews, which is normally a bad sign. I decided to buy it anyway since i was curious and i only had a couple of games for the system.
I didn't read the instruction booklet and started playing. It turnes out to be a 2d platform game. Gadget was in various locations around the globe such as New York, Paris, London and the great wall of China. His mission was to destroy machines which had something to do with his nemesis Dr. Claw. This was kind of disapointing. I had hoped there would be some kind of story based on a episode of the tv-series or something like that and that it would have some of the Gadget humor, sadly this was not the case. It's only about getting to the end of a level and sometimes defeating a level-boss, which is not to hard. Anyway, the platforming action was ok and kind of fun, i must say. Gadget has a hammer in his hat which he can use to knock out Dr. Claw's hanchman and at given points he can use his gadget-copter or his inflatable trenchcoat. Early in the game there was a point where i got stuck. Eventually i looked at the booklet and discovered that at any point you can change characters and play with niece Penny or his dog Brain. Penny has her computerbook which she can use to take over enemy robots and Brain can disguise himself, so not all of the Gadget-humor was lost in this game. The game is not too long and you get passwords at the end of each level. You'll want to write them down since this game sometimes crashes. This is the only gameboy advance game i know that does this. Any way if you like 2d latform games, like inspector Gadget and have a gameboy advance or a DS, you can safely buy this game if it is on sale. Probably not i guess.
