It's interesting, but renting it first would be the way to go exspecially since this game seems to be an aquired taste.
I don't think I could sum it up any simpler than that. The twist is that you have to play a simons says type mini game throughout the entire game to see the whole movie. If you fail you just keep restarting the mini game sequence until you win and move on in the story until asked to do another sequence. It's actually very simple.
The story begins when the main character kills a random old guy in a cafe. It's a strange murder because your character feels as if he was possesed and keeps having halusinations that seem to come true. Now two detectives are tracking him down and the main character has to dodge them while trying to find out what really happened to him on the night of the murder. The story gets pretty deep and you guide both the main character and the detective through the Matrix / X-files-ish story.
I'll be honest in saying that I believe that it's the story that keeps people playing this game. The actual gameplay is a breeze, once you get the hang of it. You just play simon says with your two joysticks and trigger buttons until the ending of the movie. If you like stories this is the game for you, if your into gameplay however it might be best to get something else.
