This game will be loved by any open wheel race car fans. Although its not a graphics power house its an incredible history 'lessons' on everything INDY.

Basically you go year by year from the 60's to the 70's. In mission mode you start in 1961. For example the first misssion is with Eddie Sachs. Then withing that driver you have separate little missions related to the driver. The first mission with Eddie is to qualify with a 147 mph average. Once that one is passed you go on to do 3 other little missions such as dodge a wreck, pit stop, and the actual race were you dont race 200 laps but the game puts you in one of the situations that happened to him in the race. In 1961 you have to score top 3 finish with 2 laps to go and have to be careful because you have worn tires.

So after you finish these missions you unlock another driver. There are 3 per year. As you progress on in the game the cars get faster and better.

As for the Pit Stops its all touch screen based. And in later years youll have to try the pit stop missions more than once, they get really challenging.

The best part is all the incredible info thats given to you at the start of each year. It begins with a nice video with recap of that years race and shows crashes, lead changes, everything. Also when you get gold medals in the missions you start unlocking new pictures, in later years the pictures are even in colour (at first they are black and white). The history lesson as i called it, are very impressive and have some really interesting facts.

Drivers included are A.J. Foyt, Eddie Sachs, Parnelli Jones, Jim Clark, Roger Ward, Graham Hill, and many others.

Theres also the classic mode where you can select how many laps you want, if you want damage, etc. Basically its a "go race now" mode.

All in all its an ok game thats for big INDY 500 fans or other hardcore racing fans. The fact that it teaches the player a lot about the famous track that IMS is, gives it that extra .5 to the score.
