Except for an overly long confrontation with the first boss, this game is an entertaining series of challenging puzzles.

Illbleed is different from most other horror games. Instead of yet another cookie cutter story where you have to just shoot down a series of monsters that have succumbed to a virus, or use a sharp implement to fight it out with crazy people, or something else that you've seen 99,057 times before, in this one you have to withstand a series of gory traps, puzzles and surprise encounters without having a heart attack. Your character's health level changes with the impact of every scene. Get out of it without much damage and you'll live to walk on to the next showcase. Take too much time to navigate, though, and you limp on to the meeting with your pulse and your life in the balance.

For those of you who are tired of going home from the state fair or the amusement park happy and safe every time, this game will change your habits. If it's the last thing you ever do.
