The best WWII combat flight simulator ever! Highly addictive and thousands of hours of gameplay! A masterpiece!
The game has hundres of planes, and you can fly a lot of them, and all has very good flight dynamics. Lots of different spitfiremodels, BF-109 variants etc etc. If you download the latest patch (4.09 BETA) you will even get more maps and the new map Slovakia most be the most detailed map I have ever seen in the IL-2 world! The map is actually modeled after the real Slovakia in wartime with towns and landmarks excactly as it was back then.
The graphics are very good with the newest patch. The ground, weather, sun, water (stunning in perfect mode) and planes look absoluty beautyful. This game has been around since 2001 and with all the addons afterwards, this must be the most complete ww2 sim to date. It has a great community, helpful, and willing to learn to newbies. How many games have YOU kept since 2001, this is one to keep. Many also waits for the the "Storm Of War", and I belive that will be even better, but for long, IL-2 1946 always brings a big smile on my face every time I see the startup screen. I actually ordered another copy of the game just to be sure in the future! :)
