Almost a perfect flight simulator for the PC. With over 40 airplanes to choose from, it will almost meet all your needs.

User Rating: 10 | IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 PC
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 is a compilation of combat flight simulators which take place during WWII. This game comes with the award winning IL-2 Sturmovik, and all of its official expansion packs, along with Pacific Fighters, which is essentially IL-2 Sturmovik, but focused on the Pacific Theater. The game comes with I believe around 5 campaigns, and dozens of single player missions. The campaigns and single player missions let you choose which country you would like to fly for, Finnish airforce, Russian, German, American, and Japanese are the most common.
If that isnt enought to float your boat, the game comes with 2 mission creators, a simple "quick combat" I would like to say and a full blown mission creator. The "quick combat" lets you choose what airplane you would like to fly, how many wingman (if any), what types of airplanes those will be, their skill, the enemy aircraft and wingman, how many, skill of the enemy, which area you would like to fight over (Pacific, russia, Ukraine area, and etc,), whether or not you want to bomb targets (bridges, trains, armor etc,), weather, and much more.... The full blown mission editor is even more detailed, allowing you to create your own single missions.
Even if this is not enough to convince you, there are over 40 airplanes to choose from. I still have not been able to go through every single one, there is so many I tell you. From Russian 4 engine bombers, to German experimental aircraft, you can almost be every single airplane in WWII. Not to mention you can even be gunners for the airplanes that have this available. Still not convinced? The ordanances you can be are oustanding. Bombs from the russians first "clutter bombs" I like to say, to napalm for the corsair in the pacific you can choose what ever you would like.

This is truly a combat flight simulator that no combat flight simulator could miss out on. It could just be the best $30 you spend!
