This game is more of an emotional experience than an action/adventure game. Its simplicity and minimalist style speak volumes and it deserves its own category. Rarely has a game with little replay incentive received so much replay. This is a game for those who appreciate games with aesthetic value. The lack of music and addition of ambient noise create a feeling of loneliness and tranquility. The relationship between Ico and Yorda is one of tenderness and caring, a relationship rarely experienced in a game. the semi-fixed camera can be a little frustrating after playing games with a controlable camera but it offers cinematic views and sets the mood in ways that wouldn't be achieved with a controlled camera. Overall, this game is an instant classic for those who appreciate fine games.
