One of hte better movie-based games, but it does nothing that innovates its genre.

User Rating: 6.5 | Hulk GC
Hulk is just another average beat 'em up game that does nothingreally to innovate it's genre, but the game is still a pretty fun game for when you are bored. But it's a rental and no more.
With it's cel-shaded graphics you can tell Hulk is more relying on it's comic book roots then the 2003 Hulk movie. The graphics aren't spectacular and the level design is dim and repetitive but the cel-shaded cutscenes look great on any console.
The game is divided into two parts: stealth and action. The stealth parts are the tough parts of the game. You play as unevolved scientist Bruce Banner and you sneak past guards and dogs, alarms, etc. These stealth moments tend to get frustrating and annoying when you are seen.
The action part, where you play as the Hulk himself, is the real point of playing the game. It's funner going around being able to smash stuff at free will instead of being limited of your capabilities. The Hulk parts can get old though. After smashing guard after guard you'll eventually get tired of the smash+repeat style of gameplay used. But what makes up for those stale times are the tough, action packed refreshing boss battles you'll encounter throughout the game. You must use your skills, but you must use them wisely. Just smashing the bosses does not always work.
The game has some dull music in it, but it also features great voice acting. If you don't care about the BGM (which you probably will.) then there is always the great SFX to pay attention to.
This game is not one you'll keep playing, so it is a rental and no more. If you've beat it once, there is not much to do, except for a few neat unlockables.
Overall Hulk is a good effort, but we've played games like this before so don't expect any new innovation for the beat 'em up genre. Play the Warriors if your looking for somethign better.
