This game could have been good, but it ultimately fails to do any justice to the Harry Potter name.

Way back in Christmas of 2001, i was a young boy anxious to get his hands on the new Game Boy Advance. I finally got one, and with two games: Mario Kart Super Circuit, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. When i started playing this game i thought it was fun for a little while but i didn't know any better. Sooner or later i found the monster hiding inside this game, and to this day i wonder how i managed to beat this game. About 2 hours into the game it becomes ludicrously difficult, to the point where the age group this game is geared towards could not possibly beat it without help with a guide book. The sneaking sections are way too hard, the enemy A.I. is way too random and Harry is frequently outnumbered by Gnomes, and since it takes 2 seconds to cast a spell and there's a high chance of missing said spell, the enemies usually wind up winning the battle, forcing you to start the level all over again, which can become very tedious and frustrating. Not to mention the fact that there are many small gaps that Harry can't simply jump over and will accidentally fall through, forcing you to restart.
There are some decent things about this game, however. The graphics are pretty good for a first-year game boy advance game. And it follows the story in a way suitable for a video game. Die-hard Harry Potter fans might enjoy this game, or children looking for a difficult time-waster.
