the Harry Potter action games are aimed at kiddies. the Harry Potter RPG's are for the older crowd.
this is a tailor made RPG for the Game Boy Color. it fits perfectly. the gameplay it totally addictive. i've spent close to eighty hours on this thing. once you beat the game, you can play through it again, keeping your level. the game follows the book like glue. it has everything Hogwarts has to offer. from classes, to house points, to all Seven floors. the grounds. you name it, this game has got it. however, it doesn't have the wizard sport we all love. look to the sequal on gbc for that. you catch the remembrall from Malfloy, but not much else in the way of brooms. the Norbert bit has the invisibility cloak, and Hagrid only releases him after you have to chase him down on your broom. (this has nothing to do with the book, but it still has fun involved.) so, a supurb RPG that gets a 9 in the Gameplay department.
the graphics are good for a gbc game. however, if you compare it to gba games, or even DS or PSP games, they look like crap. but, this really puts some effert into its graphics. good stuff. now, they aren't mind blowing, or even great, but they are good, as i said, so they earn the wonderful 7 of doom.
the sound is really not that great, but somehow, it is very fitting for this game. don't ask me why, it just is, like e =m(cc), you may not understand it, but it is so. i was going to give the sound a 6, but than i thought about what i have just said. 8.
the value it a toughie. i love the game, and it rocks, and really does offer a wonderus gameplay experience, and it gives life to a dead system... but it has a sequal. this sequal has the sport of wizards, teaming up with Ron and Hermione. then, i thought, this is the only way to get Harry's first year as an RPG. so, 10. 10, 10, 10. Perfect.
i love this game with a passion for fashion, so this is the easyest of them all. Tilt = 10.
now, because this game scored supurb, i will give it an honorary gbc purchase. i want to play through this game again, and i sold my gbc.
