Great gameplay and visuals, falls flat on length and story.

So, let's start with the good things. Aiming and controls in general are top notch, apart from the weapon switching that seemed a bit off sometimes. It didn't bother me though. Visuals, just awesome! It's not just the well made graphics, it's also the cyberpunk style, very refreshing. Sound and music is all good. Overall, a great shooter on all technical aspects. Looking for secrets on the levels also provide some extra entertainment, since the weapon and armor upgrades are nice to have (finding secrets gives you "cash" to buy upgrades). The upgrading system overall is a very successful feature. The weapon mods were actually exciting to get.

However... the story, and length of the campaign. Yes this is an "old school" shooter and people probably don't even buy it for the story, but really. I didn't get it for the story either, and I knew through the reviews that it was lackluster, but I thought it wouldn't bother me. Well, it didn't until it actually ended. The story is very absurd and hard to understand at some points all the way, but the main problem is how suddenly it ends. My reaction when the ending credits started rolling on screen was something like "Wait..wtf it's over??". There was absolutely no sense of victory or anything that games should have at the end, I was just left with a surprised face and a big "meh" feeling.

So, I really do recommend this game to anyone with the slightest interest, it's a lot like a good action flick. Plenty of challenge too if you try playing on the two hardest difficulties, and there is some replay value. Just be aware that it falls really really flat in the end.
