This game is amazing.
I got an early copy of the game, therefore i already finished the campaign, spent hours on forge world etc.
I personally think, this game is one of the best games I have played this year. There is so much variety in the game. Starting with the campaign, some might think its a bit short or that its always the same thing, but for me, i loved every minute of it. I played it on normal difficulty and then tried to have a go at legendary... What you can probably think is that i got pwned the second i got out... by a grunt lol. Anyway, the game has a good variety of difficulty like in the previous halo games. I wont spoil anything from the story mode but i thought it was quite emotional. I think the campaign is one of the highlights for me and I will probably finish the game another 20 times with friends.
Moving on to forgeworld, I found it to be really amusing. Me and another friend who got the copy yesterday, messed around with some gravity lifts and had huge fun with the jetpack. There is so much to do like in halo 3, but its so much easier to do now with the *normal, phased and fixed* settings. Already made a tiny level, but since im new to it i wont be as good as some other people are. I cant wait to download some cool ideas from the games fileshare.
The graphics are amazing. This is probably the best looking xbox title I have ever seen. The game imo really shines when you get to levels with covenant ships and designs. I think those have so much detail in them, they look really really pretty. Textures load great. Some people complain about some framerate drops or screen tearing but i never notice screan tearing, neither do i have a lot of framerate drops. While they do occur sometimes, its not that big of a deal. I think for the power it shows, its on great fps.
Sound is another great thing. While using some sounds that still remind me of the combat evolved halo, I think they improved a lot. I dont know what its called in english (german is my main language) but when grenades or other explosives occur next or near you, you notice how the sound sort of makes you "deaf" like for a second or two, just like in battlefield.
The multiplayer is probably the BIGGEST highlight in this game.
It is the same as halo 3 multiplayer, just better with new game types and new possibilities. For i.e. many of you know of, king of the warthog, where the warthog is the hill. You can also do this with any other object. Tanks, Wraiths, Bangies, Ghosts, whatever you want, its possible. Also included is firefight, which has been really fun by now. Love every minute of it.
There is a lot more to be said from the Armory and other possibilities, but I want to get back and play more lol.
This game, imo, defines gaming on the xbox 360. Just like it did on the original xbox.
If you like halo, then you need to get this game. If you dont like the game simply by the fact you think its *over rated*, who cares if its over rated, its just a game. Who cared about it many years ago? Why care now? Its just simply awesome. Games are to be played, not to be rated.
