Striving to create the golden FPS VALVe...

User Rating: 10 | Half-Life 2 PC
I have reason to believe I had stumbled upon the greatest achievement of this decade in gaming. At the time I was nine years old in 2004. My first time seeing Half-Life 2, my mind must have gripped itself on the game. I have probably played well over 2,000 hours of Half-Life related installments and mods including Half-Life 2 itself. Greatly disagreeing with 7.5's and terribly underrated scores of the like, I encourage you not to be ignorant like the individual who rated it 7.5. He had just finished talking about those who had played Crysis and Modern Warfare...and what is sublimely incorrect about his comparison: Half-Life 2 was released seven years ago. Even at that, the game has the most astonishing art direction and is captivating. From Doctor Breen's quotes to Gordon Freeman's skills and City 17. In my opinion, the game itself is the most realistic in storytelling I have seen. The story itself started on a normal day, you know...you're working nothing's wrong. Then all of a sudden, aliens are pouring through a portal...it is realistic to me. It goes from innocent everyday life just like today as I type this, to alien takeover and enslavement with a seven hour war. You must read Half-Life 2: Raising the bar and the combine overwiki to fully understand the game. Gordon Freeman will continue to be an inspiration to gaming forever.
