then I don't think this is a bad deal. I have GH III, and I find it frustrating getting stuck on Boss Battles. Smash Hits does not have this feature, so proressing through skill levels and unlocking songs makes this game more enjoyable for me to play. I do not own any Rock Band games, so I can't really compare. I don't have the Drum or Mic controllers either (they are on my wish list). Just comparing the guitar play between what I've played on GH II and III, I like this game. I think it would be more fun to play with the new controller with the slider bar, but it lets me play with the old controller too!
Plus, if you were to game out with a bunch of people, I think this game would be convenient to play with, rather than having to siwtch between the older games to play all the songs you like.
I've read that many players are frustrated at the song selection in Smash Hits, but I read somewhere that fans voted on the track choices... I could be wrong.
PS2 version doesn't support Multitap... I wonder how you get four band members playing together...
The good:artistic and funny cartoon cutscenes. Cool looking guitar,drums.bass,and microphones(monster drum kit anybody?). a great list of old hits now in full band! The bad:Crashes alot. Dated models.no music studio.... Read Full Review
