Grand Theft Auto III

A great game that re-revolutionised the open-world genre, in Liberty City, you play as a silent protagonist called Claude. At the start of the game you, Catalina and a cartel assailant are robbing a bank and as the escape car arrive you see it has only two seats yet there are four robbers. Catalina shoots the Colombian Cartel member first before betraying you and leaving you to die. During the game you will need to work your way up from low budget driver to a professional hitman and driver.

During 2001, the game looked amazing and blew almost everyone away. The world was massive and largely detailed; there are a massive selection of cars to drive from four dour sedans to limos and sport cars to small planes. The variety was amazing and when you aren't on a mission you could be causing massive amounts of chaos.

The controls are simple and easy to learn and the gameplay is great. The game plays well and there are several types of side missions to do from taxi driving, fire fighting, vigilante and paramedic driver as well as off-road challenges and RC Car Massacres.

The soundtrack is great; featuring the Grand Theft Auto 1 main theme, the Scarface soundtrack and many others makes drive-bys a pleasure while listening to your favourite radio station.

The Voice work was astounding featuring voice actors like Frank Vincent, Michael Madsen and many others makes the cutscenes enjoyable.

Overall, this game is awesome and was awesome back in 2001. It has withstood the test of time. On the 22nd of October, play GTA 3 for its tenth anniversary and act like its 2001
