Gran Turismo, arguably the best racing game in the world, is now on PSP.

User Rating: 9 | Gran Turismo: The Real Driving Simulator PSP
When the PSP 1000 launched 5 years ago it was shown playing Gran Turismo, which was then called Gran Turismo 4 mobile. And, despite rumours of the game being canned, the game is here, finally. If you've seen the trailers you will have seen PS3 style graphics, well, to start with a down side, the graphics aren't that good. The graphics are great, and some of the best i've seen but they are not as good as shown in the trailers, so don't expect to be playing a PS3 graphic like game. 800 cars is incredible, that would be great for a home console, having that many on the PSP is amazing. However, money is won very easily, and sometimes you'll find yourself recieving 50,000 pounds just for winning one race. Also the game has no career mode however it does have a challenge mode, and alot of the time spent and the money earnt will be through the single events. The game also has some fairly long load times. The game does have some truly teriffic moments, very little on the PSP beats doing 250 mph in the nerberg course while having the background music as your own music. The game does have a good sense of speed and when your going at 300mph you can tell and you do become rather scared of a corner suddenly appearing. The game doesn't feel so good to play though when the car isnt in fpv (first person view) and i strongly recommend keeping the camera FPV to get the whole experiance. Also only 4 car manufactures are availabe from the buy screen at a time, and this can be a bit irritating as you may be saving up for a car however have to wait ages for it to show up, however, this also makes the user create a far larger amount of cars than they normally would. All the GT favourites are in the game such as High Speed ring but the game really could do with a online mode to greatly enhance the multiplayer mode. The game is great though despite some of the things i have said, it beats all its rivals and is available from £17.99. A reccomended buy.
