I owned a PS1,PS2 and now PS3 (and xbox 360) so by definition have played the Gran Turiso games to death (obviously not on 360), there was always so much fun in buying an old banger and slapping on a great big turbo and totally neglecting the brakes,so on the first corner you gracefully slide through the sand and hit the advertising boards. The satisfaction also in getting all gold cups on the licence sections was always great fun. This psp version has been in development since i was a kid? well not quite, but was touted for release years ago and has only just seen the light of day,so it must be polished and brilliant, right? Well no, it is good, you could even say satisfying (at times) but it never really hits the mark, its like take that re forming, they were ok the first time (sorry poor analogy) but with literally nothing new to offer simply just a rehash of old stuff it becomes tedious.
The game contains no real "career" mode that most new racers have and the car tunning options are rudimentary, the tracks are faithfully recreated but as i said rehashed. Cars are hardly up to date i think time in development means newer cars have been omitted, and personally i kind of wonder which direction i am ultimately aiming, the car dealer situation is like waiting for a bus in a foreign country, you wait all day for the bus you think you need and when you get there you are disappointed! The graphics are competent and putting your own tracks in the game adds musical credibility, overall i just thought there would be more.
