Get yourself a wheel and play this beast!
It reminds me very much of the first gran turismo back on the old ps one.
The handling of the cars is spot on, you cant get away too much sliding about like you can on some other arcade racers.
This is simulation, as such it requires skill and understanding of motor racing. You need to stick to the racing line and generally if you start to slide it means your losing speed, as in real life.
There are lots of driving aids that can be switched on for the novices but you really should aim to turn these off as soon as possible.
The game has barely been out a month and is already patched to v1.05
The latest update has added more online functions, special seasonal races, new online car dealer.
The only slight grumble i had about the game was its lack of rewards for online play but now thankfully i can now race other people and continue to earn credits and xp due to the patch.
after playing this for about 30-40 hours there is still plenty left to do, and the new seasonal races that have been added are changed periodcally to offer fresh new challenges incase you have managed to complete the hundreds of races on offer.
Even if/when i do complete everything i will still enjoy going back and trying races in a different vehicle, and the online experience for me has been superb and very smooth with minimal lag (there's often 1 car in any given race whos lagging a little but isnt this the case in all online games?)
Im off to play this some more. If youve ever had any interest in any of the past series of gran turismo then get this as it is the ultimate addition and stays true to it predecessors
