GT3 A-Spec: A racer's paradise game

User Rating: 9.4 | Gran Turismo 3 A-spec (Platinum) PS2
Out of the first three Gran Tourismo games I've played on the Playstation platform, GT 3 is the icing on the cake in terms of graphics, sound and how great the handling of each car simulates to the cars of the real-world. The designers at Polyphony Digital has done a terrific job on the graphics to make it look like as though the player is actually at the racing location. They've also kept the feel of the Gran Tourismo series flowing in each predecessor by having the tracks that appeared on Gran Tourismo 1 and 2 like the Grand Valley Speedway, Trial Mountain Circuit, Deep Forest Raceway appear on GT 3 but with better graphics and detail. GT 3 also recycles the Rally Circuit that was first introduced in Gran Tourismo 2. This is where you can climb into different rally cars from different makers and race around dirt tracks at outrageous speeds and power-slide around tight corners. The license tests on GT 3 can be a little tricky and sometimes annoying too because sometimes even if you are just a smidgen off your race line, it would mean either a silver or a bronze cup or worse. But with the enough practice and patience, you'll be able to beat the gold cup times. I also like the fact that you earn bonus cars for getting gold on all of the license exams on a particular license you are trying to earn. Overall, if you haven't played any of the three Gran Tourismo games, I would definitely recommend you go and check out this one because you'll no doubt get hooked onto this game and want to strive to be the best on the racing circuit.
