The best and most engrossing driving game.

User Rating: 9.5 | Gran Turismo 3 A-spec (Platinum) PS2
Apart from RPGs drving games are the only ones I play anymore. But unlike RPGs not many of them suck me in for hours and hours a time. But one that does is Gran Turismo 3. Everything about it is great and i have dedicated probably over 100 hours to this game(but i have had it about 5 and a half years.)

Sound. 8.5/10/ good soundtrack with indie rock bands like Feeder, good drving songs. A lot better than the one for GT4, which IMO was not good not good at all. And then there are the engine noises which are really good and are all different for each car.

Gameplay: 9/10. The most important part of any game, the driving in GT3 is great. I have watched F1 for about 2 years and the driving on this is just about as fast, if you can get the right setup for your car. The way to improve your car is great too by bying parts with the money won by racing. And if you really know what youre doing (and i dont) you can tweak gearbox ratios and things to get the maximum out of the car.
The races themselves are good, until you get to the professional races. Im not saying theyre too difficult, but they are too long. Giving you a race of 20 laps doesnt make it hard it just tests your patience. The endurance races though long are great but you have to do about 120 laps in total to win some of the later professional seriess.

Graphics: 9.5/10 The graphics in this game are great and were some of the best graphics seen on the ps2 at the time. I cant give it a ten due to the likes of ffx. The cars and surroundings look great and you have to be careful mid race that you ont look away from the track and start looking at the suttoundings

story and characters: N/A

lifespan: not for the casual gamer who wants a game to be completed in 2 weeks this game has taken me five years and i am on 60% through. There are about 300 hours of racing here, and the last 10% of the points probably take 100 hours on their own. definitely 100 hours plus. 10/10.
overall score 9.5/10
