I’ve had this game ever since it came out (a little over 2 years) and I still find it amazing. During all that time I’ve played plenty of other driving sims and compare them all to GT3. None of them have been near as good. Let me point out the best things about this game.

First it’s important to note that this game is 2 years old and it still just looks amazing. The car models, the lighting, the way the scenery reflects off the windshields and car hoods, it’s all just amazing. Plus GT3 has the most realistic car handling of any game so far. These factors really help to suck you into the game. The sound is really good too but you can tell that some of the cars share the same engine sound. That’s forgivable enough considering there are so many cars available. Finally the very best part of this game is that you can buy it new for $20. You can probably get it off of E-bay for $5 - $10. Who can argue with that?

A couple of things that some people might be turned off by is the fact that this game is slow starting. You start out with just $18000 which doesn’t give you a lot of room to buy a good car. Despite that however, once you win a few races and get enough money to buy the Supra or RX7 (strapped with a huge turbo) this game really takes off. Also this game is LONG. I mean it is very, very long. It could take a casual gamer close to a year to finally beat it. A dedicated gamer couldn’t beat this game in under 3 months. Another thing that might turn some people off is the fact that this game does not have car damage. Personally I’m glad it doesn’t. Due to the fact that this is a driving sim there is no real sense of g-forces. People use g-forces all the time while driving to determine how fast they’re taking a turn. In the game it’s impossible to have that so everyone, no matter who they are, are going to totally crash into a wall. It wouldn’t be fair to punish the player with car damage just because they can’t have a complete sense of speed.

Bottom line people…GT3 is the best driving sim out there and, until GT4 comes out later this year, no other can even come close.
