Good game, great memories!
The game is still great fun when you have time to burn, it won't exactly take you long to complete it again for replay value but the 2 player never grows old - watch solid friendships disintegrate as the two of you fight over one final magic jar or dragon - honestly!
The game runs extremely smoothly and all your old favourite animations are still there, from the Giants laughing as they squish you (gits!) to the almost apocalyptic magic spells.
You won't need a Classic controller for the game either, simply turning the Wiimote on its side does the job perfectly, since all you really need are the jump and attack buttons, along with magic attacks (hit A!).
The music and sound effects are still rubbish however, (although for the sake of nostalgia you won't find yourself minding too much!) and it remains incredibly frustrating when you get caught in an enemies unstoppable combo attack. But overall Golden Axe is definitely worth the Wii points if you enjoyed the original.
