It's so nice, and rare, when a game comes along that quickly obsesses you to the point that you're being slightly irresponsible with work and is so good, you forget you opened that beer 45 minutes ago or packed that bowl an hour ago. LOL. All GOW games have obsessed me but GOW 4 takes it to a whole new level. Kratos... fantastical landscapes... lush, amazing environments... terrific story that goes right to your heart... phenomenal, all new combat to learn and love... and perfectly, seamlessly incorporates Atreus into your battles makes this game, IMHO, quite possibly the best GOW in the entire franchise. Sony has outdone itself with this game.
Along with all the above characteristics making this game unbelievably fantastic to play are some firsts: NO LOADING SCREENS from one scene to the next, meaning no "Chapter" loading, you can just keep playing and playing. When you do die, reloading any battle whether it's minor or a Boss Battle takes 2-4 SECONDS tops. I've almost played 1/3 of the game at this point and that loading time has been consistent the entire time. No more waiting 30 seconds for every scene to reload. Sony raised the bar on this aspect that frustrates all gamers. Hopefully all other games from here on out will follow suite.
Gonna be hard to beat this for Game of the Year.
