A Decent Rental

I was forced to rent this with one of my free game rental coupons that I get each month from Blockbuster.com. This is because the Gamecube rental section is terrible these days. But this is not the point of my review. This game has a multiplayer (Skirmish) and a single player (Campaign). The single player introduces you to the various clans in the game. There are 5 clans in the game. They are Stonekrusher, Hellfire, Stormbringer, Plaguespitter, and Nighthorde. They each have their own specialties, titan, and tower. For example the Stonekrushers have a Stone Ogre. Once you get past the short campaign mode you will be forced to play multiplayer in which you and one of your friends can control 1-3 clans and duke it out in one of the maps provided (I think there are about 10) This can be satisfying at first but then becomes very boring. All in all this game isn't really a great RTS; you don't really build cities or harvest resources, you just capture "soul fountains" and blast away your own wall defenses to get gold. On top of this I was very dissappointed with the fact that they limit the number of soldiers per clan that you can have out on the battlefield at once to 10 whereas the CPU can have as many as they can manage to build. I reccommend this game if you are like me and are looking for a somewhat decent gamecube rental when the single copies of Resident Evil 4 and Mario Superstar Baseball are out and the only other choice is one of the twenty copies of SpongeBob Squarepants: Lights, Camera, Pants. Don't buy this game but if you need to use a free rental coupon, have fun.
