Gladius provides players with a highly addicting experience. The story and characters are unique and laughable in their own ways. The combat system is never-before-seen and still unique to this day. There are enough characters to recruit to add some variety in players' parties. However, the difficulty of this game is quite astounding. Training is a must and after a while, cheats that grant 1000 experience with every series of clicks matters little when it takes jazillions of experience to reach the next level. Weapons are awesome for this game and the Affinities are simply cheap. The plot is flavorful if not a bit random and there are many challenges in store for heroes based off barbarians and the Roman legions themselves. Hire bow-slinging Amazons, lumbering Samnites, weak but insane Berserkers, growling Yetis, and wield the power of the elements. It's all packed into Gladius-one heck of an adventure with plenty to spare.
