Gladius is a turn-based game with some strategy. There are 2 heroes of which to choose from at the start of the game, and each has a different story. As a hero, you will recruit different character types to your school, and engage in battle tournaments across the land.

Each character type has a different set of skills. So it is wise to hire different types. Also, you would be able to choose which skills to unlock for use. There are a wide variety of weapons, armor, helmet, shields, and accessories, which may be acquired through purchase, as battle prizes, or in treasure chests.

The gameplay is turn-based, which means you should patiently wait for your turn. Not only that, it is slow-paced, since you or the enemies don't act quickly after entering a battle command; this is due to the loading time. It is enjoyable though, once it is your turn to move.

One thing which is annoying is the loading time, may take more or less 15 seconds for the battle to start, after finishing a battle, and even when entering and exiting towns in the world map.

After finishing the story of one hero, you could later choose to play the other hero's story. Overall, it is a fair game, since the loading time will take most of your play time.

It is worth trying this game unless you are easily bored of slow-paced games.
