This game is short and easy, and also raated T, but it is still one of my favorite horr games to date!

User Rating: 9 | Ghosthunter PS2
Ghosthunter is a fabulous game and the very little flaws it has are so small and unnoticeable that they do nothing to affect the overall experience.

The Good:
1)Ghosthunter has a lot more good than bad. First off, remember, this is a horror game, a rated T horror game. I was a little skeptical when I first saw it, but I got it and don't regret it. The game is just creepy constantly, all the time. That being said, this game can get outright HORRIFYING! Especially when you first pop it in, and right in the middle of the game. Near the end of the game, it isn't quite as scary, but still has disturbing images. I really can't explain it, the game is especially scary in certain parts, but you will have to play it yourself.

2)This game has some of the best and most interesting stories I've ever seen in a game. It has many questions that are almost all answered, and the ones that aren't don't bother you that much because the ones you actually CARED about figuring out are answered. While the main character, Lazarus, is kind of annoying and unrealistically goofy, he can be serious and he never really bothered me.

3)This game has the best sound/graphics for its time. The music is especially fitting, as well as memorible. All the sound cues and monster sound effects are pretty good at giving the feeling the game is going for. The voice acting is somewhat typical, but average voice acting is a horror game staple, so take it as you will. The graphics are phenominal. Everything is sharp and presented well, and glitches are kept to a minimum, and this is definately one of the best looking games of its time.

4)The gameplay is extremely fun. While this game is somewhat easy, you won't really mind it. Some people may find it annoying that you have to throw a disk and "capture" all the ghosts instead of gunning them down and killing them, you get used to it. This feature also makes the game less generic. The sniper is good for the middle of the game, but nothing really after that. The pistol is kind of weak, but you won't ever resort to it because ammo is one thing you won't have to worry about. The plasma gun is somewhat weak unless you charge your shots, which only takes a split second, so I recommend this and the shotgun, probably the most useful gun in the game, despite its lack of ammo.

The Bad:
1)I'm just going to list the bad parts of the gameplay here. First is the fact that you have to capture every ghost by throwing the disk in them,
Then shooting. It gets slightly annoying, but its not that bad. Like I said earlier, it is a little easy, 'nuff said there. Other than that, not much.

2)The ending is kinda lame, not much I can tell you though.

3)The game is rather short, and there isn't that much replay value... actually, there isn't any reason to replay it at all, unless you're like me and you replay it just because it is so awesome, which you will do.

4)There isn't a sequel. While I am not only saying this because I think it would be awesome to have a ghosthunter 2, it would also be a good way to explain the unanswered questions thrown in at the last minute.

Conclusion:
Ghosthunter has flaws, but you won't mind them. The story is great, while short, and the game is just fun to play. The T reating is a little odd, considering how the middle of the game and sometimes parts in the beggining and the end, can get pretty gory and disturbing. This game is great and don't anyone tell you it isn't, though no one will.
