Good start, now give us Ghostbusters III.

User Rating: 8 | Ghostbusters: The Video Game X360
Ghostbusters is a beloved film franchise that hasn't been doing a whole lot lately. With Ghosbusters III a ways off, this game is meant to fill you in on what our heroes have been doing after their last outing. The story we're given is that ghost portals are opening up all over New York, and it's up to Venkman and everyone else to close them. Rather than placing the player in the shoes of already established characters, you are instead playing as the Ghostbuster's new recruit. You're given the "responsibility" of testing new and dangerous tech out in the field. The gameplay is everything you could want from a Ghostbusters game. Catching and trapping ghosts is just as fun and exciting as it was watching it happen in the films. There are a few segments where the game does tend to be more frustrating than fun, but these sequences are few and far between. What really makes this game worth playing is the fact that Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and a few other familiar faces reprise their roles. The only disappointment is that the quality of their voice work varies from time to time. For the most part it is very funny and there's a lot of the classic Ghostbusters humor to be found, but it seems like there was a disconnect for the actors doing voice work. This is a minor let down, and you will still find yourself laughing at the back and forth between the team. While this game is certainly recommendable to Ghostbusters fans, I'm not sure I could recommend to someone who isn't very familiar with the franchise. Overall, it's a great game and I couldn't be happier knowing Ghosbusters III is about to begin filming later this year. Ghostbusters fans will absolutely love this game.
