This is was definately one of those game that I was too young to get into

My folks got me this game when I was about 7...it confused and scared the hell out of me!

Seriously this game creeped me out...the absense of music during gameplay, the eerie sound effects, the "god-like" voice that would randomly speak, and ESPECIALLY the sound of the dragon in treasure rooms!!!

Another thing that I wasn't used to was the top down view (besides some flight shooters that I had previously played) and non-linear gameplay. Up to that point, most of my gaming experiences had been with cute little side scrollers.

My Breakdown:

What's Good:

- Looking back, the game was pretty innovative in its approach to gameplay

- The non-linear aspect gives one the feeling of not knowing what's around the next corner/dungeon (existed before the days of FAQs)

- Four characters to choose from with different strengths and weaknesses

What's Not-So-Good:

- Being "It"

- Some of the sound effects (seriously, getting poisoned sounded like your character just sh!ted themselves...hm? maybe they did)

-The graphics weren't anything to brag about...even back then

What's Bad:

- Being 7 years old and playing this game at night

In all, the dragon alone made me scared to play this game and I would usually quit after killing it or it killing me just so I wouldn't have to hear it again. I'm not sure if this was the effect that Mind Scape was going for but if it was, it worked on me!
