1. Increase Rating with hostile races

   At the beginning of the game, you are not friends with the paranid or Split, and as such you can't dock at their stations. However, you can dock at a Pirate base in their sectors. If you keep on docking they will eventually offer you a job, when you complete it, it will increase your rating with that species, so you will then be able to dock.
