Shadowrun Cheats For Super Nintendo

  1. Secret debug Room

The developers created a secret room for Quality Assurance that allowed them to quickly get money, karma as well as access to later parts of the game quickly.

    Here is the method:

Outside the Morgue and just to the right is a flickering street light.

    1. Stand under the light on a crack in the ground where you see NPCs sometimes stopping at
    2. Bring up your item screen and select the Matchbox
    3. Examine it - If you are standing in the right location you will hear a *beep*
    4. Examine it a 2nd time - You will hear another *beep*
    5. Examine it a 3rd time - You will hear two *beeps* close together
    6. Examine it a 4th time - You will hear one beep again
    7. Leave the item screen and walk into the Morgue, just inside the door and stop in that hallway
    8. Examine your matchbox for a 5th time - You will hear three *beeps* close together
    9. Select the matchbox again and you will see that 'Examine L' has been replaced with 'Open R'
    10. Press R and you will be warped to the secret room.

In this room you will find:
A bunch of waitresses - These give money and karma (and spells too)
A bunch of exits - These lead to different parts of the game
A can of dog food - This item grants invincibility to Jake
    A bed - Just a normal bed

Note: If you aren't hearing beeps when you examine it, instead of standing exactly where the NPC stops try a step or two down and to the left of him on some cracks. Right up against the back of this street light worked for me too.

Note: I believe the matchbox cannot be examined ever again after this and will always say *open R* and warp you to the room again if you try to examine it

I would like to thank Retro Gamer as it was their recent issue #120 which had an interview with the developers of Shadowrun (SNES) who mentioned that there was a hidden room that went undiscovered for 20 years and gave some clues that helped me find the *beeps*.
I would also like to thank GameFAQ user JLukas for finding the missing last step of having to go back into the Morgue and examine it again. You're awesome!!!
I think it's really great that on the 20th year since Shadowrun (SNES) was released that we found a new secret!

  2. Infinite Money Glitch

This glitch will allow you to exploit a small oversight in the menu and selling feature of the game. First, visit a weapon/armor shop (the earliest one being outside the Caryards right next to the magic talisman shop). Position yourself close enough to the shop owner so that you can talk to them and more importantly, give them an item you want to sell. Press start to open the menu. Navigate to your highest value piece of gear under Weapon or Armor (ex. T-250 Shotgun if you are in the first shop of the game)and select it, then put your menu cursor over the Give option. This next step is a bit tricky. Notice when you hit Give the game exits the menu. Its at this point you would normally move the cursor over to the shop owner and complete the sale of the item. The trick here is right after you select Give, hit start to open the menu again. This timing of this button push to pause again needs to be very precise: The instant the menu closes but before the game fades back to the gameplay screen and you see the "Give to" prompt. You only have a few frames to get the timing right, and if you see the gameplay screen again with the "Give to" prompt you timing was too late. Try hitting start the instant you see the pause menu box flicker away. A turbo controller helps if you can't get the timing down. If you fail to enter the menu a second time, simply hit the B button to cancel the give command and try again. Once you've successfully opened up the menu a second time, select the same piece of gear again and select Give. Now move the cursor to the shop owner like normal and select yes to sell the item. Once you exit the chat window, notice the hand cursor is still up. Give the item to yourself and you'll have successfully gotten free money and the item back that you just sold! Note that this is not an item duplication, and you won't be able to give yourself 2 copies of an item. You can repeat this trick with any weapon/armor as many times as you like to stack up nuyen fast!

  3. Kitsune Permanently Stays With You

If you hire Kitsune as a Shadowrunner to join you in your party to kill the Rat Shaman, a conversation with Kitsune will start and she decide to stay with you, having her as a permanent party member instead of leaving after a number of battles like all hired Shadowrunners would do.

The real challenge is keeping her alive through the entire game. If she does gets killed, you'll have to hire Kitsune again at the Jagged Nails Club, but only as a normal Shadowrunner. But if you manage to go through the AI Computer to beat the game with Kitsune permanently on your side, she doesn't get killed in one shot like the other hired Shadowrunners from the ending sequence.
