Hearthstone's next expansion releases on December 10. The new set, called Descent of Dragons, was announced at BlizzCon 2019. Blizzard says it boasts more dragons than any single Hearthstone set, and now that every card has been revealed, we can see just how many dragons that is.

This expansion will introduce a new keyword, Invoke, which upgrades other cards when played. The prime example is the Legendary Galakrond, which will be free to all players who log in during the launch event. The Hero card will take a different form for the five EVIL classes--Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior, and you can make it significantly stronger by using the Invoke minions and spells.

Another new mechanic, Sidequests, will let you complete smaller challenges for early-game rewards. Plus each class will get its own Legendary dragon card.

The new expansion is still available for pre-purchase. The 60-pack bundle includes a Golden Legendary and exclusive card back for $50, while a 100-pack Mega Bundle gives those bonuses plus a Deathwing Warrior Hero alternate for $80.

Blizzard also released Hearthstone Battlegrounds, a new game mode that puts the Hearthstone formula onto an auto-battler. Battlegrounds is its own mode, but pre-purchasing Descent of Dragons gets you the requisite number of purchased packs needed to unlock its extra features.
