Well, that was weird.
During Comic-Con, many studios create fun activations that tie into their upcoming product which creates a buzz. Then, sometimes, a company does something really weird. At the show, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment created a sweepstakes where one person got to stay in the Deadpool Dream Suite to promote the upcoming Deadpool 2 Super Duper $@%!#& Cut, releasing in August.
GameSpot took a tour of the room, which was redesigned to look like Blind Al's apartment from the movie. This room was not open to the public and only a few members of the press got to check it out before the sweepstakes winner slept in it on Saturday evening. The room was inside the Hard Rock Hotel in one of its most expensive suites, so seeing a luxurious, pricey room turned into a messy, dilapidated living room was pretty crazy.
The entire suite was filled with drawings made by Deadpool, references to the two movies, and lots of little Easter eggs that gave visitors some insight into the Merc with the Mouth. Spoiler alert: He's crazy. Here's what we saw at the Deadpool Dream Suite.
Deadpool 2 Super Duper $@%!#& Cut comes out digitally on August 7 and on Blu-ray, and 4K on August 21. Additionally, there was a Deadpool 2 animatronic show on the convention floor, which was also super weird.
