When i first tried this game i tought. it will be another " meh " game. But my opinion about this game is growing through the hours i've spent playing. Ok lets begin

CONS :
- The story is simple if not plain
- the avatar design is not even describe the main character. i've once met an npc that looked very similliar with the main protagonist. it is excusable if it is a web flash game. but this isnt.
- the 3d is stunning but i can't say the same for the 2d siluet on spacebar
- and the worst is the HUD. there is the ship shield & armor status. but it can be better than just a small bar on top of the corner of the screen. not to mention there is no missile / rocket reload status, booster reload status, speed, proper map / gps. System postioning etc2.
- the auto locking system is really frustating. if i have locked an opponent then suddenly a friendly ship made a pass through the crossbar then the locking system instantly change to the friendly unit by the time it's clear, the opponent already pouring blasters on my ship
- for me 3rd person view is enough but many other player hoping for cockpit view
- the larger ships such as battle cruiser / cargo is kinda rare to find and if it is it just act as a hopeless trade ship with no firepower whatsoever and just sit there waiting to be blasted into oblivion. more over on the escort mission, one small fighter oftenly destroy a cargo ship like its just a bag of potatoes. it will be super great if we often crosspath with some of the faction fleet.

Finally PROS :
- The graphic is superb it gets the feel of "deep space" and the color is amazing
- it is a ported game from IP but its done in very good way
- dont need a high spec PC
- The control is user friendly. with brief time you will learn and move your ship like your own hand
- the dogfight is fast paced and adrenaline pumping especially when you got further-half the game you will more likely ambushed by 6 or more enemy
- you can hire mercenary. this is proven handy for some of time
- the design for the fighter is A class design. the best is every faction have its own pinnacle ships and the price is just reasonable and it kinda act as a whip to do more and more sandbox mission. and you got the "hide & seek" when you searched a spesific ship because some of the available ship on the store is always changing
- the parts upgrade is vary and trying every single one of them is a pleasure. Lasers, Blasters, Miniguns, Rockets, Missiles, Stealth, turret etc2 even better with parts developing with blueprints. and not all the blueprints achieved by just doing the storyline.
- And there is a mining mini game for you to gold farming if you got tired shooting down pirates
- system exploring is kinda hard on the beginning but it got better when you got the Khador drive to jump from system to system with just one click away. Its really easy to wandering of just to explore the other system. it could use more effect upon the arrival after the warp / khador drive function though
- Storyline mission is brief. but you just cant ignore the freelance mission. once you did one then you found another one with a bigger pay then another one and another one

Overall Galaxy on Fire 2 is indeed a fun game to play.
Sure its not perfect but nothing is. i've really enjoyed freelancer and longing for another game likewise and GOF2 is more than a cure for the itch i'm looking for. not to mention reasonable price and hopefully morecoming DLC's.
if you a space sim enthusiast just try it through couple of mission and you will gradually ignore all the cons ive mentioned and enjoying the moment playing this enjoyable game. i know i did
