Frogger is one of the better 360 Arcade games out there, but there are some noticable bugs online and off.

Frogger is one of the Xbox 360 Live Arcade titles that a lot of people will recognize. It has been out on other consoles and at arcades. Anyone who has played it can tell you that it is very easy to understand, but still maintains a degree of difficulty. The early levels, there are 5, are fairly easy. Most would say they can get to level 4 with a little practice. The challenge becomes beating level 4, and especially level 5. While playing Frogger for the Xbox 360, you can use the d-pad or left analog stick to move your frog. Those are the only controls you use. While playing, your objective is too cross the road, which has traffic that becomes heavier and heavier throughout each level. After that you need to cross the river. Now this frog that you control can not fall into the water or he dies. I am not sure on the full story behind this, if there even is one, but I have heard stories that it is because the water is contaminated. You can cross over red rocks, logs, and green turtles. The turtles only float above water for a few seconds and then sink so it is good to study the timing for using them. In the later levels the logs don't occur as often so it becomes a lot more difficult crossing. Alligators show up later in which you can jump on everything but their head. Then come the otters which run into the front of back of logs and kill you if you are on the front or back. You then get your frog, you will do it 5 times per level, you take him to his home. His home is a little indent into the ground and you need to get him snug in there. If you jump about half and half on to the home you will lose a life. You get the point, because this is turning into a FAQ.

Frogger for the Xbox 360 Arcade has the same layout and style as all the other Frogger-made games. This time around, Konami has enhanced the graphics and music. The enhanced graphics look nice for this style of game and are a good upgrade of the old. If you are a heavy believer in displaying the old-styled graphics you can change it through the options. The screen can also be stretched to your pleasing. Between about full-screen and 1/3 screen. If you shrink it, there is a nice bordering to fill in that black space. The only problem with the screen size is if you have it set to full, or near it, and then go and play an online game, the screen will make it looks like there are only 3 or 4 holes for you and your partner to fill. Really there are 5, but you can only tell if you re-adjust your screen. This technically isn't a bug, but it should be able to auto-adjust.

The gameplay is the exact same as the other Frogger games, so that means having quite a bit of fun, as well as many frustrating moments when you just barely got hit by that truck! The only real problem with the gameplay is that the controls seem to be a bit slow at responding to your action. This can cause you to die. At times there are blunders in which your frog doesn't even jump as far and he normally can. The online gameplay has quite a bit of potential with three game types. There is one huge problem, the online games always lag. From my experience, I have never played one non-lagging game. This causes you and your partner to die frequently. Normally getting past levels 1,2, and 3 are fairly easily, but not online. It is a battle to do so. This ruins the experience and for those wanting the co-op brilliance achievement, see an achievement list for details, it is near impossible with the lag.

The wanting to keep playing the game is there, especially with some of the achievements being fairly difficult and it just being a great classic game. If the online worked more properly, then it would only be enhanced. But for now, unless a patch comes out, the wanting to re-play the game isn't there for everyone. If you do decide to purchase Frogger, you still will be given your money's worth of fun.

Frogger can be purchased via the Xbox Live Market Place for 400 Market Place Points($5). The file is very small and should download in no time. I reccomend you purchase this game if you are looking for a pretty good arcade title, but beware of the online issues that I stated. Try the demo if you wish, for free.
